NAMIBIA Snappy Guide |
Join us on an unforgettable trip to the highlights of Namibia.
We'll be driving in 4WD vehicles on good dirt roads (we first did this journey in a golden Renault Modus). We meet you in Windhoek from where we'll make our way to some of the most spectacular desert landscapes, the Skeleton Coast and a self-drive safari in the Etosha National Park before returning to Windhoek.

Experience the diversity of Namibia's landscape – desert, the Skeleton Coast and on safari. Join us on our camping and 4WD adventure.
| Our favourite places Every year we will go back to one of our favourite countries. In October 2008 we're off to Namibia for an unforgettable camping trip traversing this beautiful African country. Join us! |

Flights: Air Namibia is the only airline who currently flies direct from Gatwick to Namibia. Flights leave London twice a week (Wednesday and Friday), and depart Windhoek on Tuesday and Thursday. Tickets are currently just below £700 return.
How many places: The maximum number will be 12 and we will travel in 4 jeeps. As the two of us will be drivers, guides and cooks, we are looking for adventurers like you who don't mind helping out. We love this trip and hope you will too.
Any Drivers?: We are also looking for anyone who likes driving. All you need is your own national driving license or even better, an international driving license. The roads are mostly well maintained dirt roads with little traffic. We did this trip in a small city 2WD - we are using 4WDs really just for added comfort. This will be a self-sufficient trip so we will need at least 2 drivers (there are 4 jeeps and 2 drivers/guides/cooks).
Essentials: You will get very close to nature with this trip and we recommend you bring a good camera and binoculars for game spotting.
It will be hot: shorts, sandals, plenty of sunscreen, hats, swimming costume, towel and soap, shampoo, razors, goretex (for the unusual eventuality of rain)
Apart from our brief stay in Swakopmund, with all its amenities, restaurants and shops, most of our time will be spent camping in spectacular - but basic - campsites. That is the beauty of camping - you are always in the middle of Namibia's spectacular nature.
Everywhere we stay apart from one night on the Skeleton coast will offer washing facilities and often swimming pools. We can't promise hot water everywhere but the weather is usually hot so that isn't normally a problem.
