NAMIBIA Snappy Guide |
Join us on an unforgettable two-week camping trip to the highlights of Namibia.
We'll be driving in 4WD vehicles on good dirt roads (we first did this journey in a golden Renault Modus). We meet you in Windhoek from where we'll make our way to some of the most spectacular desert landscapes, the Skeleton Coast and a self-drive safari in the Etosha National Park before returning to Windhoek.
Experience the diversity of Namibia's landscape – desert, the Skeleton Coast and on safari. Join us on our camping and 4WD adventure.
| Our favourite places Every year we will go back to one of our favourite countries. In October 2008 we're off to Namibia for an unforgettable camping trip. We invite all adventurous - but safety-conscious - travellers to join us. |

We love Africa. One of us is South African and so knows well the beauty, space and challenges provided by the continent. Namibia is a spectacular, sparsely populated country with vast deserts and outstanding game reserves.
| Day 1 | Arrive in Windhoek. Drive to the desert national park of Sossusvlei |
| Day 2 | Sesriem and Sossusvlei: In the Namib Naukluft National Park, Sossuvlei offers man-dwarfing dunes, sweeping views of the African plain and an eerily desolate, ancient salt pan. Sesriem, a few kilometers away, is our beautiful campsite with a much-needed swimming pool. |
| Day 3 | Drive to Swakopmund, the old Germanic town emerging out of the desert on the Atlantic coast where you can indulge your action side with sandboarding and paragliding or simply relax by the sea. On the way there, we'll stop off at the (very) Solitaire for the best apple crumble on the continent. |
| Day 4 | Swakopmund |
| Day 5 | Drive up the Skeleton Coast, camp on this beautiful, wild coast |
| Day 6 | Drive into Damaraland, camp in luxury at Palmwag |
| Day 7 | Palmwag – Rhino drive optional |
| Day 8 | Drive to Etosha Game Park, where we'll spend 3 nights |
| Day 9 | Etosha |
| Day 10 | Etosha |
| Day 11 | Etosha |
| Day 12 | Drive to the Waterberg Plateau national park - fantastic views, scenery, short marked walking trails to do by yourself or with us if you prefer |
| Day 13 | Drive back to Windhoek to catch your flight |
Please note that the itinerary is subject to change in case we are confronted with unforseen circumstances. We don't foresee anything going wrong, but they sometimes do. (4wd breakdown, for example)
