Why Travelyard

Travelyard exists because we are mad about travel. We're 2 professionals who have always travelled in our annual holidays but in our late thirties took off for 18 months to explore and experience more of the world. Now back in the UK, we are so inspired by what we saw and did that we wanted to spread the word around. We are happy to report that - with a bit of common sense, a very open mind and a flexible attitude – the countries we visited were not as daunting and scary as we imagined them to be. In fact, in some instances, life on the road was surprisingly easy.

Why our itineraries and Snappy Guides?

We are consummate planners. We always want to see the best possible in the time available in each country we visit. The temptation is always there to see everything in every destination, but it is difficult to do so over several years let alone 2 to 3 weeks. All the route plans and information we have collated here are the result of journeys we have done ourselves. They represent what we consider to be the highlights of each country we visited, and hopefully weeds out less spectacular and interesting places.

But it is only our subjective views, and we want you to send us your comments, recommendations and improvements.
